Nonatone 2.0

Nonatone presents a sophisticated platform for sound exploration, featuring nine independently controlled open-gate oscillators comprising three saw waves, three square waves, and three sine waves. Its combined global low-pass filter and volume control further enhance the user experience, allowing for intricate manipulation of tones, drones, and unique soundscapes.

Prioritizing simplicity and playability, Nonatone boasts intuitive and responsive controls that facilitate effortless sound shaping, with an emphasis on live modulation. The operational design is straightforward: adjusting an oscillator’s frequency is as simple as dragging it upwards to increase or downwards to decrease. Notably, if the frequency drops sufficiently, the oscillator will deactivate automatically—an uncomplicated yet effective approach replicated across all nine oscillators.

This instrument requires no complex theoretical understanding or patch configurations, enabling users to focus entirely on their sonic creativity alongside the oscillators.

The inclusion of an Audio Unit v3 plugin allows integration with external effects, with the shimmer reverb particularly standing out in enhancing its capabilities.

It is important to note that the Nonatone AU operates as a "generator," meaning it produces audio without any MIDI input or output. Consequently, it is not compatible with MIDI-based hosts such as GarageBand, although it performs satisfactorily in audio-focused AU hosts like AUM.
